Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam cast in Arrested Development season 5B

The behind-the-scenes crew at Arrested Development are keeping things fresh as they have recast the roles of Young Lucille and George Bluth, Sr. with How I Met Your Mother veteran Cobie Smulders and Single Parents star Taran Killam, according to Entertainment Weekly, who also has first look images at the real-life couple portraying the TV couple.

The younger versions of the matriarch and patriarch of the Bluth family were previously portrayed by Seth Rogen (Long Shot) and Kristen Wiig (Wonder Woman 1984) in the fourth season, but for unknown reasons, the roles have been taken over by Smulders and Killam for the second half of the fifth season.

In the aftermath of Cinco de Quatro, the Bluth family are all facing one question, that no one quite has the answer to; where is Lucille Two? As this Netflix (semi) original series returns, the Bluths are back together, and finally getting the award they think they deserve – for family of the year. A development which will help Lindsay as she begins her campaign for Congress, to become ‘part of the problem’. But whatever happens, Michael will always come back to save the family. Probably. Arrested Development centers around Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) and his eccentric family comprised of his son George Michael (Michael Cera), his father George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor), his mother Lucille (Jessica Walter), his brothers George Oscar Bluth II (Will Arnett), Buster Bluth (Tony Hale) and sister Lindsay Funke (Portia de Rossi), and Lindsay’s husband Tobias (David Cross) and their daughter Maeby (Alia Shawkat).
