No Activity Season 3 Greenlit at CBS All Access

CBS All Access has renewed their cop comedy series No Activity for a third season, Variety has confirmed. No Activity Season 3 hails from executive producers Will Ferrell (SNL) and Adam McKay (Drunk History).

We are so excited to welcome back our favorite cops for a third season,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President of Original Content for CBS All Access. “Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall, along with Funny Or Die and Gary Sanchez Productions, just keep outdoing themselves. No Activity is a master class in proving that while our characters may be bored, they are never boring.”

In what should be a high-stakes sting operation, No Activity celebrates the mundane. Set against the world of a major drug cartel bust, the series follows two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who are in way too small a space considering they’re only just met.

Its second season found detectives Cullen (Patrick Brammall) and Tolbeck (Tim Meadows) back in the squad car together, as they stake out the seedy underbelly of a cockfighting ring, while their police department was rocked by a massive corruption scandal. Season 2 featured a host of guest stars including Jessica Alba, Allison Bell, Joe Manganiello, Sunita Mani, Nasim Pedrad, Amy Sedaris and J.K. Simmons.

No Activity stars co-developer Patrick Brammall (Glitch) and Tim Meadows (The Goldbergs), along with guest stars Mark Berry, Arturo Castro, Mackenzie Davis, Bridget Everett, Will Ferrell, Darren Gilshenan, Travis Guba, Jake Johnson, Sunita Mani, Jason Mantzoukas, Adrian Martinez, Jesse Plemons, Fred Pohl, Alex Rodriguez, Amy Sedaris, J.K. Simmons, Courtenay Taylor, Michaela Watkins, and Daniel Zolghadri.

No Activity is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Funny Or Die, Jungle and Gary Sanchez Productions, and is based on the Australian series produced by Jungle and broadcast by Stan. The series is co-developed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall, alongside executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jason Burrows, and Joe Farrell. Trent O’Donnell directed all of the episodes.

The first two seasons of No Activity is currently available to stream on CBS All Access.
