The CW announces Spring premieres for new and returning shows
The CW has announced its spring lineup, which will see the midseason return of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as well as the premieres of the final seasons of Jane the Virgin and iZombie.
Legends of Tomorrow had its midseason finale air on December 10, 2018, which left its Monday night slot open for fellow DC Comics series Black Lightning to return to the air beginning January 21 in the 9 p.m. slot following the long-running Arrow. The fourth season of the team-up comic series will return on Monday, April 1, however it will be trading timeslots with Arrow, from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Following the season finales of the Vampire Diaries-spinoff Legacies and surprise critical darling sports drama All-American, the final season of the dramedy telenovela Jane the Virgin and the series premiere of the mystery comedy In the Dark will fill in the empty slots. Jane is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 27 at 9 p.m. following a new episode of Riverdale, while Dark is slated to premiere on Thursday, April 4 at 9 p.m. following a new episode of Supernatural.
iZombie, the well-received adaptation of the Vertigo Comics series, will debut its fifth and final season on Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m., filling the empty slot left by network mainstay Supernatural, which will air its 14th season finale on April 25.
The loose adaptation of the YA novel series, The 100, is set to air its sixth season premiere on Tuesday, April 30 at 9 p.m., filling the timeslot left by freshman series Roswell, New Mexico, which is set to air its finale on Tuesday, April 23.
