CBS Cancels Elementary Ahead of its Season 7 Premiere

CBS cancels Elementary

CBS has pulled the plug on its detective procedural Elementary. The network made the decision back in May, shortly after the show’s season six premiere in April, according to a report from Variety.

The show has already shot all 13 episodes of what’s to be its final season. Elementary first premiered back in 2012, and has done well for the network, despite constantly having its timeslot shuffled around during its first six seasons. At this time, there is no premiere date set for its final season.

Based on the Sherlock Holmes stories from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Elementary stars Jonny Lee Miller (Dexter, Trainspotting) as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu (Animals, Difficult People) as Dr. Joan Watson who work cases in modern-day New York City. The show also stars Aidan Quinn (Flipped, Benny & Joon), Jon Michael Hill (Detroit 187), Desmond Harrington (Sneaky Pete, The Neon Demon). Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Jason Tracey, Robert Hewitt Wolfe and Robert Goodman serve as executive producers on behalf of CBS Television Studios.
