In the previous episode of Amazon’s Undone, Alma and Sam investigated a break-in at Jacob’s lab the night of his death. In Undone Episode 7, on Becca’s wedding day, Alma met with Charlie, and Jacob determined that she was ready.
The Dirt
Alma used a fake LinkedIn account to set up a meeting with Charlie at the hotel where her sister’s wedding would be. She ducked out of getting ready to meet with him. Alma drank while Charlie talked about the mundane aspects of his job. She pushed him to talk about more, and he suggested they go to his hotel room for privacy. When he discovered who she was, he told her that Jacob’s research meant nothing to him or anyone at his company.
Guilt
After leaving the hotel room, Alma arrived late for Becca and Reed’s “first look” photos. Alma yelled at Becca about her having sex with the bartender after her engagement. The wedding party, including Reed, heard everything. Alma was able to go back in time and take back what she had done. Jacob appeared to her and told her that she was ready. When she saved him, Alma could come back to this moment and Jacob wouldn’t miss the wedding. Unfortunately, when she tried, it didn’t work.
Before the wedding, Camila couldn’t find Becca. Alma found her in the stairwell, crying. She wanted to tell Reed about the cheating since she felt so guilty, but Alma convinced her to wait until long after the wedding.
Know the Dance
At the hotel where the wedding was held, Alma came across a bar mitzvah. She watched a performance of an indigenous dance called “La Antigua”. Later, Alma went outside where one of the dancers was smoking a cigarette. Alma bummed one, and the dancer explained that the dance was for the ancestors. She recognized that Alma had indigenous ancestry. The dancer told her that, though Alma didn’t know the dance, it was inside her, so she did know. The dance was what connected them.
When Alma was ready to go back in time, she danced until she saw herself and Jacob that Halloween night in a mirror. She leaped toward it.
