Designated Survivor Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Designated Survivor Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

In the previous episode of Netflix’s Designated Survivor, Mariluz approached Aaron about a reporter harassing her, and the FBI found the members of Reclaim Our Nation dead during a raid. In Designated Survivor Season 3 Episode 7, the story about Aaron and Mariluz broke, and Hannah and Eli investigated a Boston brewery tied to the virus’s creation.

Two Crises

A reporter published a story about Aaron driving Mariluz over the border illegally when he was a teenager. Emily confessed that Aaron had told her, but she advised him to keep his mouth shut. Kirkman was at a crossroads, and a speech from Aaron would help determine if he would stay on the ticket. He also asked Emily to draft a resignation letter, just in case.

A national security crisis in the Situation Room interrupted this campaign crisis. A Russian bomber was unresponsive and headed for Seattle. The Russians wouldn’t admit to what had happened out of embarrassment. Aaron suggested use of hacking technology to divert the plane. It was a success, but the Russians shot it down anyway. Lorraine wanted to use the story, but the tech was classified. Instead, she paid Myles Lee to install Pegasus, malicious Israeli spyware, on Moss’s phone.

Aaron’s speech was successful. He took responsibility for breaking the law but embraced his “Rivera” heritage. Isabel was proud of him, but Aaron confessed to her that he’d slept with Emily. She left the apartment upset. Kirkman called him and told him that he was a good man, reaffirming the decision to keep him on the ticket.

Still in the Game

Designated Survivor Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Dianne met with Dov Levi, her counterpart with Israel. She wanted information on former bioweapon engineers from South Africa who they kept tabs on. The only one that went off the grid was Wouter Momberg.

Hannah and Eli visited a Boston brewery where Genetical hands shipped virus parts used to engineer the virus. While he tried to brush them off, Hannah knew that he wasn’t from the area. That night, she went back to look around. Meanwhile, Dianne sent Eli a picture of Wouter Momberg, the brewery owner. Momberg had released a nerve toxin that stopped Hannah’s breathing and set fire to the brewery with her in it. Eli was too late.

Wouter Momberg called Detwiler. They had framed Reclaim Our Nation to cover up their real plan.
