Good Omens Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

In the previous episode of Amazon’s Good Omens, Aziraphale stumbled upon Agnes Nutter’s book of prophecies. In Good Omens Season 1 Episode 3, we saw the history of Aziraphale and Crowley’s friendship, as they got closer to finding Adam.

History of the World

Aziraphale and Crowley were together for Noah and the flood and Jesus’s crucifixion. While Aziraphale was a part of King Arthur’s Round Table, Crowley was the Black Knight. They did favors for each other in the time of Shakespeare, and Crowley saved0 Aziraphale from the guillotine during the French Revolution.

In the 1860s, Crowley became obsessed with obtaining holy water for “insurance”, and Aziraphale refused to give it to him. However, that didn’t stop Crowley from saving Aziraphale from the Nazis. In the 1960s, Crowley was organizing a heist to steal holy water from a church and met young Witchfinder Shadwell. Before the heist could happen, Aziraphale gave Crowley a thermos of holy water.

Opposite Sides

Good Omens Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

After hanging up on the Youngs, Aziraphale decided he had to go to the office and report to Gabriel and the other angels. Hell had misplaced the Anti-Christ, but he didn’t tell them that he knew where the Anti-Christ was. Gabriel reminded Aziraphale that war between heaven and hell must happen.

Unbeknownst to each other, Aziraphale and Crowley had the same human operatives: the Witchfinders. Unfortunately, it was only Shadwell, and now Nelson, since Shadwell had been inflating his numbers to both of them. Aziraphale and Crowley sent him to Tadfield to look for a boy. Meanwhile, Nelson had discovered that Tadfield had perfect weather for the season for eleven years. With all signs pointing to Tadfield, Shadwell agreed to go.

Crowley and Aziraphale met to discuss if they had new information. Aziraphale lied and said he had nothing. He reminded Crowley that they were on opposite sides and ended their relationship.
