The Punisher Season 2 Episode 11 Recap
Mahoney rides along in the ambulance taking Frank to the hospital in The Punisher season 2 episode 11. Frank’s in bad shape physically, but that’s nothing compared to his mental state after killing the three women in Billy’s office. As the doctors get to work trying to save Frank, a crowd of hospital staff gathers to watch.
Curtis returns to the trailer. Amy asks what happened. Where is Frank? Curt says that Frank was carted out to an ambulance by the police. Amy listens for news on the radio, which states the name of the hospital Frank was taken to. She tells Curt that everyone will be coming to collect the $5 million contract on Frank and that they have to get him out of there. Curt says he’s finished after shooting a man and holding that guy while he died. While Curt takes a shower, Amy heads to the hospital.
As God Tested Abraham
Pilgrim wakes from his blackout to his phone ringing. He calls home and gets Eliza, who says that Rebecca’s not available to talk as a hearse drives away from the home. Eliza goes to New York and tells Pilgrim that Rebecca passed quietly in the night. Pilgrim is upset, saying he should have been there. Eliza says that Frank is the reason he wasn’t. Pilgrim retorts that Frank hasn’t done anything to him. Eliza says that guys like Frank are trying to stop them from the good work they’re doing, and that God is testing him like God tested Abraham. Pilgrim says it’s not God who is using his kids as leverage to get him to do the dirty work. Eliza tells Pilgrim that she’ll protect his kids and that his family will prosper long after he’s gone as long as he finishes the job.
The Gang’s All Here
Karen arrives at the hospital and gains admittance to Frank’s room since Nelson & Murdock are still the lawyers of record assigned to Frank. Frank is still dealing with the deaths of the three women, saying that he’s the monster now and that he deserves to die. Amy arrives and lies her way into Frank’s room, telling him they have to go because every killer in the city knows where he is now and will want to collect on the bounty. Madani arrives as well. She’s not convinced that Frank killed the women, but would need to examine the corpses to be sure.
Billy calls Madani’s cell phone and taunts Frank, saying that Frank will have to spend the rest of his life with himself as the devil, in a hell of his own making, which Billy put him in.
If I Can’t Have You
Dumont asks Billy if he’s happy, if they can move forward now. Billy says the victory feels hollow. He still can’t understand why Dumont would want to leave behind all that she has built. They’re killers now. Those women are as much on her as they are on him. Dumont says that she would do anything for Billy because she loves him. Billy suggests that she only loves him because he is like another of her clients that Dumont loved but couldn’t save. Dumont says that yes, she loved the other patient, who was her father. He came back broken from Vietnam. The night that her mother said she wanted a divorce, he picked up his daughter and jumped with her out the window, saying that if he couldn’t have her then her mother couldn’t either. He died. Dumont lived and had to be rebuilt.
A Good Cause
Karen bribes her way past the coroner so she and Madani can examine the bodies. The women were killed at point-blank range by someone standing directly in front of them. Billy shot the women and left them for Frank to find and think that he killed. Another cop relieves the one guarding Frank’s hospital room. He’s come to collect the bounty. Frank is going to let the cop kill him, but Amy tries to fight him off. The officer chokes Amy, attempting to kill her, while Frank’s cuffed to the bed and can’t help her. Madani and Karen return and tell Frank that he didn’t kill those women. Frank tells Karen and Amy to go while he uses the cop’s uniform and leans on Madani to help him escape when Karen pulls the hospital’s fire alarm.
Mahoney passes Karen in the hall, noticing that she isn’t wearing shoes–she bartered them for entry to the morgue. He heads outside and cuts off Madani and Frank. Mahoney cuffs Frank inside an ambulance and drives away.
