Billy is still shell shocked. When a couple of the guys on the crew–including the “hostage” from the job–start bickering about the money and the way things went down, Billy shoots them both and leaves with the money. He returns to Dumont’s and bangs on her door, pleading with her to let him in. Billy can’t understand why Frank would try to kill him. How could Frank have done this too him? Dumont says that now that Billy knows his fear, he can face it and walk away from it reborn.

Later, Billy snaps. He says that Dumont has been playing him, trying to control him. Surely she knew that Frank did this to him. Why didn’t she tell him. Dumont claims that she did’t know, but Billy’s not buying it. He begins trashing her apartment. When she tries to calm him, Billy grabs Dumont and forces her against her window, making her face her fear. Dumont asks if it’s really that scary for Billy to think that maybe she loves him? That maybe he could be better than he is? She says he has to choose.

Billy chooses to meet the rest of his guys. He tosses them the money and says it’s all there. If that’s all they want, then they’re welcome to take it and walk away. But, he wants more. He suggests they invest this money in weapons and manpower, that they find more people like them who are tired of scraping by and are ready to take control. He’s building an army.
