Printer and Healer

Aunt Jocasta wished that Jamie would stay at River Run and confronted Claire in private for restricting his potential. Jocasta let Jamie keep the salary and passed on his mother’s candlesticks to him.

Jamie wanted to fulfill his promise to Jenny and send Ian home. However, Ian made the case that he had grown up significantly since Scotland. He wanted to move on to Woolam’s Creek with Jamie and Claire. Jocasta sent John Quincy Meyers to accompany the three of them through the Blue Ridge. He guided them through the woods, but left them to head to a trading house. Ian went with him, and they would meet back up at Woolam’s Creek.

Outlander Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

Jamie and Claire continued their travel through the woods in the Blue Ridge. Unfortunately, a storm started and spooked a mule. Claire went after it, but lightning ignited a tree and scared her horse. She fell and was knocked out. It was dark when she came to, and she sheltered under a broken tree. She found a skull with a crack and a strange purple crystal there. Claire then had a vision of a Native American man with the back of his head bleeding and wearing the crystal.

The next morning, Claire’s shoes were missing from her feet and so was the crystal. She followed footsteps to where her shoes were placed near a stream next to Jamie. He had been looking for her throughout the night. She didn’t know how her shoes got there. Upon further inspection of the skull, Claire noticed silver fillings in the teeth, something that wouldn’t have been invented for another 100 years. The Frasers looked out over the land and declared they would settle there, naming it Fraser’s Ridge.

A Little, a Lot, Passionately, Not at All

Outlander Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

In 1970, Roger left Scotland for the US. Rev. Wakefield’s house would go to Fiona and Ernie. After Brianna picked him up from the airport, they drove down to North Carolina. Roger would be performing at a Scottish festival. When they arrived, they had their portraits drawn in MacKenzie tartans and had a fun time ceilidh dancing.

At the end of the evening, Roger walked Brianna to her cabin. When she gave him a Scottish-American heritage book and his favorite moonshine, he went inside with her. She started getting undressed, and they kissed. However, he stopped it to give her a bracelet and ask her to marry him. Brianna felt it was too sudden, and she wasn’t sure she believed in marriage. Roger didn’t want to sleep with her if she didn’t want to marry him.

The next evening, the festival held a bonfire where they would burn a stag made of wood branches. A representative of the major clans present would take part, with Roger representing Clan Mackenzie. Each person lit the branches, and the stag went up in flames.
