Dateline NBC: Where Is Scott Sessions’ Killer Kevin Eastman Now?

In its upcoming episode, Dateline NBC plans to re-examine the brutal murder of musician Scott Sessions that took place in February 2020. Titled ‘The Last Weekend,’ the episode will dive deeper and present several details about the murder case. It will air on the network on Friday, December 8, at 10 p.m. ET.

Upon commencing the investigations, authorities identified Heather Frank as a prime suspect. They also announced that Frank’s ex-lover, Kevin Eastman, was also involved in the killing of 53-year-old Sessions. The police issued search warrants against the duo and arrested Eastman on February 16.

However, things took a wild turn when the authorities found Frank’s body in Eastman’s house in Weld County, Colorado. Following this, it became evident that Eastman was responsible for both the killings and was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.

On July 20, 2022, a jury found Kevin Eastman guilty and sentenced him to two consecutive life sentences. The Colorado Department of Corrections gave him an additional 27 years. Reports suggest that he is currently serving his life sentence in Fermont Correctional Facility in Fermont, Colorado.

Why did Kevin Eastman murder Scott Sessions & Heather Frank?

According to the investigators, Kevin Eastman murdered Scott Sessions out of jealousy. Moreover, the culprit allegedly killed his ex-lover, Heather Frank, for knowing about the murder. At the time, Deputy District Attorney Yvette Guthrie told ABC News that this was “a case of domestic violence.” He added, “We wanted to make sure that the jury understood that power and control ultimately was what killed Heather Frank and Scott Sessions.”

During the trial, the prosecution presented DNA evidence that suggested Eastman murdered Scott Sessions with a large knife. Eastman burnt his body and went away from the crime scene. Meanwhile, Frank was reportedly shot twice in the chest, and her body was in a plastic sheet.

During interrogation, Eastman reportedly behaved oddly and prayed when he was alone in the room. Following the discovery of Frank’s body, he was charged for both deaths. Last year, the jury found the 50-year-old Eastman guilty and gave him two consecutive life sentences in Scott Sessions’ murder case. In addition, he was to serve 27 years in prison at the Colorado Department of Corrections.
