Alex Murdaugh Case: Sister-In-Law Claimed He Cheated On Late Wife Maggie

Convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh allegedly cheated on his wife, now deceased, 15 years ago, testified his sister-in-law at his murder trial. Earlier this year in February, Marion Proctor, the sister-in-law, took the stand and told the court about her beliefs. Marion claimed her late sister Maggie Murdaugh once even kicked Alex out of the house after learning of the alleged affair, per the New York Post.

The court heard the revelation during Alex’s double murder trial for the slayings of his Maggie and the couple’s younger son Paul Murdaugh. He was accused of shooting his wife and son to death at the family’s hunting lodge in June 2021. The high-profile trial concluded after a jury convicted the disgraced South Carolina lawyer of murder and other charges.

Alex Murdaugh affair: Who is the alleged mistress?

According to the New York Post, following Marion Proctor’s testimony, a 2022 interview of former sex worker Lindsey Edwards surfaced. She told FITSNews that Alex Murdaugh slept with her and abused her, leaving her traumatized.

The outlet reported that Edwards admitted to having slept with Alex four times nearly a decade ago. Additionally, she claimed that during their sessions, he choked the then-20-year-old to the point where she nearly blacked out and even thought she might die. The former sex worker also alleged the once-prominent lawyer pulled out clumps of her hair.

A second New York Post report stated that Edwards claimed she and Alex Murdaugh first crossed paths on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina. The latter was on a “guys’ weekend” at the time. “There was a bunch of guys there drinking, doing drugs. They had a fire going on the deck and eating food and just hanging out,” said the former sex worker. She claimed to have been a part of the women present there to have sex with the men.

Edwards alleged that while having sex, Alex “violently choked” her and pinned her “down to the bed by my throat. I was blacking out, I was seeing spots, seeing stars. I was beating and scratching on his wrist as much as possible to get him to stop.” She allegedly believed she “was going to die” during that encounter.

The report further mentioned that Edwards’ madam, who called herself the now-disbarred lawyer’s “personal friend” set her up with him. Subsequently, they met a few more times and the alleged abuse and violence continued.

Alex Murdaugh never faced any charges stemming from Lindsey Edwards’ allegations. The Post has mentioned that they did not verify her claims.
