Bryan Kohberger Today: Where Is the Suspected Idaho Student Murders Killer Now?

Bryan Kohberger, who allegedly murdered four University of Idaho students on November 13, 2022, remains in custody at the Latah County Jail. Police reportedly arrested the suspected killer on December 30, 2022. He has since been in prison and now faces four counts of first-degree murder. The victims are Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen.

Sources confirmed that Kohberger and his defense filed two motions to have the murder indictment thrown out. They cited a biased grand jury and lack of sufficient evidence, among other things. The second motion alleged that the jury received improper instructions. The 28-year-old made two separate court appearances on hearings for the same.

According to CNN, the judge presiding over the hearings denied one out of the two motions to have the murder indictment thrown out. The alleged quadruple murderer is now set to stand a highly-anticipated trial.

Where is Idaho Murders suspect Bryan Kohberger now?

A recent KING-TV report confirmed that the suspect of Idaho student murders, Bryan Kohberger, is being held at the Latah County Jail. Police arrested him on December 30 last year. The former criminology Ph.D. student has remained in custody as the only suspect in the murders of Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen.

Kohberger faces four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the brutal stabbings of the four University of Idaho students. He allegedly murdered them in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13 last year. Police arrested the 28-year-old from his parents’ Pennsylvania home the following month. A not-guilty plea has been entered on his behalf, as per CNN.

The New York Post reported that earlier this year in July, Kohberger’s defense attorney filed a motion to have the indictment thrown out. They claimed that the grand jury was given improper instructions when they voted to indict the accused. Kohberger’s defense requested Latah County Judge John C. Judge to schedule a preliminary hearing instead. His lawyers only revealed that the suspect was on a late-night solo drive that night.

Two separate hearings were held on October 26, 2023. The district court judge denied the motion to dismiss the murder indictment. Judge John Judge said, “I am constrained by what I believe is settled law in Idaho. This is certainly an issue that you would have to bring with a higher court, like the Idaho Supreme Court. I think the argument is good, but I can’t go that far, not today,” reported CNN.
