The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by American Express, today announced its feature film selections in the Midnight sections. The 12th edition of the Festival will take place from April 17th to April 28th in New York City.
We had been tipped off a few weeks ago that Caity Lotz was going to star in the sci-fi thriller The Machine and, this morning, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the actress’ involvement. The outlet adds Toby Stephens has also been cast.

Casting has begun on The Machine, a film described as a sci-fi/thriller mixed with a love story wrapped up in a “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein”-like package. Unveiled at Cannes, the project is to be directed by Caradog James and is produced by John Giwa-Amu and, this morning, we have a lengthy plot synopsis to share which reveals the filmmakers are definitely thinking “big” with this one.
