Watch This U.S. Trailer for the Creature Feature Thale

We’ve known that the Norwegian creature feature, Thale (review), was hitting VOD March 21st (with an April 5th limited theatrical run to follow) now, this morning, we have the official U.S. release trailer to share with you.  You can find it after the jump.

Directed by Aleksander Nordaas, the film concerns two crime-scene cleaners who discover a mythical, tailed female creature in a concealed cellar. She never utters a word, unable to tell her story, but the pieces of the puzzle soon come together: she’s been held captive for decades for reasons soon to surface.

Look for Thale to hit DVD April 23rd.

The 2012 – 2013 Winter Horror Movie Guide

Winter officially begins December 21st and we’re thrilled to see that the season is going to be jam-packed with horror releases!

What was once a dumping ground (some might argue it still is) for genre titles is now prime real estate (The Devil Inside raked in big bucks in its debut at the start of 2012). breaks down the films you can expect to see later this month through March 19th, when winter concludes.  As usual, we weigh in with our thoughts on what is to come and provide you with links to photos and trailers (if available).

Outpost: Black Sun, Thale and The Thompsons Land U.S. Distribution

XLrator Media, LLC announced the launch of “Screamfest” and “Macabre” multi-platform releasing labels to bring the best in horror and genre films to North American audiences.

The labels will showcase thrilling new horror visions from American and international filmmakers.  

The first films set for release under the Screamfest banner will be zombie actioner Outpost: Black Sun – the sequel to Outpost – and the Norwegian thriller Thale, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and recently screened at Screamfest Horror Film Festival.

Based on actual accounts and events, the video conspiracy document Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes (opening in limited release today) and the vampire tale The Thompsons will be the first releases under the Macabre banner.
