SyFy is preparing for another round of insanity with Sharknado 3 in 2015 and at the American Film Market today we snapped off this shot of the poster. The art confirms the Washington D.C. plot that we’ve been hearing about (apparently, a sharknado system moves down the East Coast to Florida). But what’s up with the spaceships and the sharks with the glowing eyes. Are they taking this shit into space? How? Are aliens now involved? Forget it. I’m sure they’ve got all of the answers, and I’m sure they’ll be totally reasonable answers.
Led by Sharknado 2: The Second One, Syfy announced their “Sharknado Week” (July 28-August 3), soared 80 percent among Adults 18-49, 74 percent in Adults 25-54 and 73 percent among total viewers, compared to summer to date (May 26-July 27).
The reach for the eight “Sharknado” franchise (Sharknado and Sharknado 2) airings hit 18.2 million total viewers, with the reach for the entire week of shark-infested programming reaching 25.8 million. Following Sharknado 2’s record-setting 3.9 million total viewers premiere on Wednesday, July 30 at 9PM (ET/PT), repeats of the movie devoured 1.8 million victims on July 30 at 11PM, 2.3 million on Saturday, August 2 at 7PM and 1.5 million on Sunday, August 3 at 9PM.
