Insert Scream Here Episode 15: The Burning

Episode 15 of Insert Scream Here kicks off a “summer slaughter” theme. Why? Because I feel like it. Maybe because summer makes me think of camping and summer camp makes me think of some of my favorite slasher films. (You see how my brain works sometimes?) In this episode, I celebrate the bloodiest and best moment of The Burning.

Choice Cuts: Inside Scream Factory & Exclusive Titles Announcement!

Shock Till You Drop’s original series Choice Cuts returns and goes inside Scream Factory.

If you’re a regular Shock reader, they really need no introduction, but they’re one of the leading companies today seeking out older horror films and are restoring and releasing them as collector’s editions. While Scream Factory handles its fair share of new title acquisitions, their bread and butter is older titles and they’ve given us some fantastic ones: Day of the Dead, The Funhouse, Lifeforce, The Burning and many, many more.

This upcoming summer and fall is huge for Scream Factory, so I sat down with Cliff MacMillan and Jeff Nelson to preview what’s to come and to give you a better insight as to how the company works.

Indie Horror Journal: Bringing the Child Eater to Life Part 2

Week one of Child Eater is officially complete. We shot six very full days, drank pots and pots of coffee, saw the sun rise four times, and added three new vehicles to our fleet, but we did it and did it quite well at that.

Every stitch of footage is all that we hoped for and more, but there

The 50 Best Horror Movies You’ve Never Seen Trailer is Here!

Last month, we announced our latest acquisition for film distribution was the fun, feature-length piece The 50 Best Horror Movies You’ve Never Seen from Anthony Masi.

Shock Till You Drop, in conjunction with The Orchard, will be releasing this countdown retrospective on VOD/iTunes later this year. While we sort out a release date – which I’ll hopefully have for you soon – check out the trailer which I can now share with you.

Indie Horror Journal: Bringing the Child Eater to Life Part 1

This month, one of our contributors, Perri Nemiroff, embarks on the exiciting and daunting journey of making an independent feature-length horror film. When she approached me about perhaps doing a production journal – from the producer’s angle – I thought it would appeal a great deal for you Shock readers out there looking to get a film off of the ground. That said, welcome to her first installment on the making of Child Eater, a feature based on the short film which debuted at SXSW in 2013.

Insert Scream Here Episode 12: My Favorite Scenes in Horror

When Dark Castle was still making horror movies, we saw the release of films like House on Haunted Hill, Thirteen Ghosts, House of Wax, Gothika and Ghost Ship. That last title is the subject of our 12th episode of Insert Scream Here?.

The focus of this series is to look at some of my personal favorite moments in horror. I

Insert Scream Here Episode 11: My Favorite Scenes in Horror

Chuck Russell’s The Blob isn’t just a great remake, it’s one of my favorite horror films period. And now it’s the focus of a new episode of Insert Scream Here! The FX in this one have always made my jaw drop and there’s one particular sequence I was eager to dissect.

The focus of this series is to look at some of my personal favorite moments in horror. I
