It was announced by SpectreVision partners Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller.

The Fantasia International Film Festival kicks off on July 17th and we’ve just received a breakdown of the latest films you can expect to see play at the annual event. Fantasia takes place in Montreal, Canada. I’ll be heading out there the last week of July (post-Comic-Con) to check out some films and provide some coverage here at Shock.

Nacho Vigalondo – who gave us Timecrimes and Extraterrestrial – now has Open Windows on the way. The thriller, starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey, made its premiere at SXSW last month and today we’re learning the film has found a distributor.
According to Deadline, Cinedigm will release the film in late summer/early fall.
In addition to the many horror movies that made their premiere at SXSW – you can read all of my full reviews to date here – I caught a few titles that fall into the documentary, techno-thriller and, well, horror…comedy (I’m still trying to figure out the film’s intent) sub-genre. I’m talking about Elijah Drenner’s That Guy Dick Miller, Nacho Vigalondo’s Open Windows, starring Elijah Wood, and Creep, starring Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice. Here, find my capsule reviews while I still play catch-up from SXSW!
Another SXSW entry making my “most anticipated” list is Open Windows, a thriller directed by Nacho Vigalondo and starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey. Vigalondo is definitely a horror “friendly.” His film, Timecrimes, hit the festival scene in 2008. With that film, we got a refreshing, smart, weird thriller. Later, he directed Extraterrestrial (now on HBO Go, in case you didn’t know), a love story wrapped in an alien invasion scenario. Again, unique and pretty damn awesome.
The trailer for Timecrimes writer/director Nacho Vigalondo’s latest, Open Windows, has found its way online. Check it out in the player after the break (with thanks to reader Juan for the heads up)!

Nacho Vigalondo garnered our attention with the time travel mystery Timecrimes and later won us over one more time with Extraterrestrial. Now, he’s at work on Open Windows, a techno-thriller he has discussed in the press in the past, and the director has Elijah Wood as his star.
Shooting has been underway in Spain for a bit now and Screen Daily reports “the plot revolves around a desperate search by Wood
