Oblivion Director Compares It to Omega Man

The trailer for Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion debuted earlier this week and, recently, Kosinski spoke with MTV about the film and it will more than likely peek your interest.

“I started writing this small character-driven science fiction story that was in the vein of those science fiction films of the 1970s that involved this lone survivor among the ruins of civilization, like ‘Mega Man’ or ‘Silent Running’

Wow, Oblivion With Tom Cruise Looks Pretty Good

Universal Pictures has debuted the trailer for director Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion and you can watch it inside.  Kosinski, you may recall, last directed Tron: Legacy, and this trailer for his latest effort has me very interested in seeing it.

Hitting IMAX theaters on April 12 and conventional theaters on April 19th, the film stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.

In Oblivion, on a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind. Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
