Comic-Con: Live Blogging from the Goosebumps Panel!

The young adult terrors from R.L. Stine’s imagination are coming to life in a live-action film appropriately called Goosebumps. This feature is based on the book series of the same name and it stars Jack Black.
Shock Till You Drop’s Ed Douglas provides “live” highlights from the Goosebumps Comic-Con panel which takes place today at 12:30pm pacific. Check Out Monsters, Marionettes and Jack Black in New Stills That Will Give You…

On the heels of the debut images last week, USA Today has brought online three more images from next year’s Goosebumps, two of which reveal some of the monsters that fans will get to see in the adaptation of the R.L. Stine book series.
In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door.

Comic-Con 2014: Goosebumps Movie Banner Revealed!

We’ve got a man down at San Diego Comic-Con already and he snapped off a photo of the giant banner that is on display for the Goosebumps feature film…and it looks like a very familiar dummy is being featured in the promo campaign. Horror Highlights of Comic-Con: Preview Night & Thursday, July 24th

The San Diego Comic-Con has posted the schedule for Preview Night (Wednesday, July 23rd) and Thursday, July 18th. You can view the full schedule here and, as we’ve been doing annually, we’re pulling the “horror highlights” – these are panels and other special events that will be occurring throughout the event.

I’ll be down there representing and, while all of my coverage will be hitting the homepage of Shock, you might want to bookmark this hub, because all of this year’s updates will be filtered to that spot as well. (Currently, you’ll see past SDCC coverage.)

The Goosebumps Movie Bumped Up to 2015

The suits at Columbia Pictures must like what they’re seeing on the set of Goosebumps. The film has been moved up an entire year. Originally, the film’s release date was August 2016. Now, it’s entering the summer fray of 2015 opening on August 7th.

Goosebumps Feature Film Starts Principal Photography, More Plot Details

Principal photography has commenced on Goosebumps, starring Jack Black. Rob Letterman directs the film from a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Mike White and a story by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski and Darren Lemke, based on the “Goosebumps” book series published by Scholastic and written by R. L. Stine. The producers are Neal H. Moritz and Deborah Forte. Executive producers are Bill Bannerman and Tania Landau. The film will be released on March 23, 2016.

Also starring in Goosebumps are Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Ryan Lee, and Ken Marino.

Goosebumps to Scare Up Fun With Ken Marino

With shooting beginning next week, more casting news is coming in via Deadline. The outlet is reporting Ken Marino (seen last year in Bad Milo!), is joining Jack Black, Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush in the film based on the young adult book series by R.L. Stine.

Goosebumps Begins Shooting Soon, Why Am I Strangely Excited?

R.L. Stine alerted his Twitter followers yesterday that, beginning next Monday shooting will finally begin on the Goosebumps feature film. The author of the popular spooky young adult novels is excited, of course, because Jack Black is literally playing Stine in this Columbia Pictures production.

Rob Letterman is directing and Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush co-star. It’s not entirely clear who will be receiving writing credit when the movie ultimately comes out on March 23, 2016 but we know that Jack the Giant Slayer’s Darren Lemke, Ed Wood’s Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander and The Last House on the Left’s Carl Ellsworth all took a turn at the script.

Goosebumps Movie Casts One More, Plot Details Surface

The Goosebumps feature film is really moving forward now. Based on the R.L. Stine series of kids books, the supernatural thriller had been gestating for some time until Jack Black boarded the project last fall. Rob Letterman is attached to direct and, today, The Wrap reports Odeya Rush will play Black’s niece in the film.
