In the film: When his wife cracks open a fortune cookie that prophesizes her death in four days, a pro-life doctor must solve the mystery behind the fortune before it’s too late.

Last year saw venturing into new territory: The distribution game. It also saw yours truly wearing a new cap labeled “acquisitions.” We announced that we had partnered with The Orchard to find, pick up and distribute a slate of horror films. The first two titles – Solo and Bela Kiss: Prologue – hit various digital and VOD platforms last October and December.

While we wait for those to hit DVD this spring, I wanted to tell you that our third release Fortune Cookie Prophecies from writer-director Henry Li.

Bela Kiss: Prologue Arrives Tomorrow, Watch a 20-Minute Featurette

?Shock Till You Drop’s second horror film release, Bela Kiss: Prologue, is arriving tomorrow. The film will be for sale and for rental in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa across all major online video services including iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, X-box, PlayStation and Vudu as well as through Cable VOD.

Starring Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Proxy), the film takes its cue from Bela Kiss, one of the most brutal serial killers who ever lived, having killed 23 young women during the beginning of the First World War.

?I’m very happy to announce’s second film release – after Solo (now available, details here) – entitled Bela Kiss: Prologue, starring Kristina Klebe (Proxy, Rob Zombie’s Halloween). The Orchard, a pioneering independent music, film and video distribution company and top-ranked MCN, has entered into a long term marketing and branding relationship with horror film web publisher, (a division of CraveOnline and Evolve Media).  The multi-year global pact will see the companies combine their resources to acquire and market contemporary horror films through all home video channels including digital and DVD, beginning with the launch of the Shock Till You Drop YouTube channel. The Shock channel will feature two new hosted programs; one featuring host/comic Erin Darling.

The new partnership announces its first horror film acquisitions. Missionary, directed  by Anthony DiBlasi (Dread), starring Dawn Olivieri, Mitch Ryan, and Kip Pardue; The Complex, a new film from Hideo Nakata the director of Ringu, The Ring Two and other critically-acclaimed and award-winning films; and two new thrillers from Continental Media – Solo, starring Annie Clark, Daniel Kash and Richard Clarkin, and Bela Kiss based on the famous true story of a Hungarian serial killer.
