Ross Duffer took to Instagram to share a photo of Miss Harris in Stranger Things Season 5, revealing that the actress who plays her is their real-life high school drama teacher, Hope Hynes Love.

He wrote, “High school was rough for me and my brother. But Hope saw something in us we didn’t see in ourselves — and she helped give us the confidence to not only survive those four years, but to move to LA and chase our dreams.”

Appreciating all the teachers who shape children’s lives, he added, “Shoutout to all the teachers out there making a difference.” He also urged schools to prioritize the arts as a subject.

In the latest installment, Miss Harris is Holly Wheeler’s teacher at Hawkins Elementary. She appears during recess when she calls all the kids back inside. While making sure everyone has returned, she realizes that Holly is missing. She begins searching for her and eventually finds her near the fence. Miss Harris is surprised to see Holly talking to what appears to be no one. She immediately reaches out to Karen to inform her about Holly’s condition.

The military later places Miss Harris and her entire class under quarantine at a base in Hawkins. When a Demogorgon attack occurs, she safely assists the kids in hiding inside their beds. Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1’s four episodes are now available to watch on Netflix.
