Celebrity couple Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are taking a break from promotions for their joint album, I Said I Love You First. The pair stepped out to have a casual date at Tuesday’s Knicks vs. Celtics game.
When the cameras panned to the couple, the “Back To You” singer could not stop blushing. Blanco seemed to be in his usual chill aura, pointing at the camera and looking at Gomez with a broad smile.
Gomez and Blanco officially confirmed their relationship in December 2023. A year later, the duo got engaged. While they formally announced their relationship in 2023, they had collaborated for the first time almost half a decade ago for the song, “I Can’t Get Enough.”
The news of her relationship with Blanco was met with mixed reactions from fans. To a comment that seemed to criticize the relationship, she responded, “I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest, then don’t be in (my) life at all.”
Gomez and Blanco’s relationship seems to have transcended personal sentiments, as they also took a leap of faith with their first creative project, I Said I Love You First.
Right before the announcement of her album with Blanco, Gomez told Variety, “I currently don’t have anything, but I will say music is going to always be a part of me. So I don’t think any movements are happening right now, but it will always be in my life.”
