Happy Death Day Interviews with Jessica Rothe and More

Happy Death Day interviews with Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, director Christopher Landon and producer Jason Blum

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions’ Happy Death Day opens in theaters on Friday, October 13 and we got a chance to interview Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, director Christopher Landon and producer Jason Blum for the film. In Happy Death Day, Tree (Rothe) is having a normal birthday. She deals with a hook up (Broussard), class, her sorority sisters and the usual day-to-day moments of a college student. The day ends, however, with her murder. That’s just the beginning. Like we saw in the Bill Murray film Groundhog Day, Tree is living the same day over and over again, and getting murdered every time. She’s got to solve her own murder before her lives run out. Rothe and Broussard give us the scoop on the film, while Landon and Blum talk about the recent crop of horror films and more. Blumhouse (SplitGet OutWhiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in Happy Death Day, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.

Happy Death Day is directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) and written by noted comic book scribe Scott Lobdell and Landon. The film also stars Ruby Modine, Rachel Matthews, Charles Aitken, Jason Bayle, Phi Vu, and Donna Duplantier.
