Rachel Weiz and Michael Shannon star in director Joshua Marston’s Complete Unknown
This Friday, Amazon Studios and IFC Films are releasing to theaters Complete Unknown, the new film from Maria Full of Grace and The Forgiveness of Blood director Joshua Marston. Complete Unknown stars Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener, The Light Between Oceans) and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Man of Steel) and we’ve got an early look at the film in the form of an exclusive clip that you can check out in the player below!
Complete Unknown offers a shape-shifting tale of the perils and pleasures of self-reinvention. The story begins at a dinner party. As Tom (Michael Shannon) celebrates his birthday with a group of close friends in Brooklyn, he is startled to see a woman from his distant past at the party. Jenny — or Alice (Rachel Weisz), as she now calls herself — first denies even knowing Tom, but as the evening progresses, she reveals a shocking secret. After disappearing from Tom’s life 20 years earlier, she began to reinvent herself every few years, taking on a new name, a new career and a new life each time. After giving Tom a glimpse of what life could be like if he lets go of the safety and security he has so carefully created, Alice asks him to make a choice that will change everything.
Complete Unknown debuts in theaters Friday, August 27.
