A new Sausage Party movie clip sends James Franco on a bad trip

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released a new Sausage Party movie clip and you can check it out in the player below. This one features James Franco‘s character having a bad drug trip that winds up allowing him to speak with food products, including a malformed hotdog named Barry (voiced by Michael Cera). Trust us when we say that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the bizarre (and very, very R-rated) places that the Sausage Party movie plans to take audiences later this month.

Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store.

The Sausage Party movie features the vocal talents of a who’s who of today’s comedy stars – Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek.

From a story by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill, the Sausage Party movie is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. The Sausage Party movie is produced by Rogen, Goldberg, Vernon and Megan Ellison with Hill, Hunter, Shaffir and James Weaver executive producing. Nitrogen Studios Canada Inc., in Vancouver is handling all CG animation, design, production and post-production.

Sony Pictures will release the raunchy comedy on August 12.
