Lionsgate has brought online the new trailer for their upcoming Nerve movie, based on the novel by Jeanne Ryan. Check it out in the player below!

Starring Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) and Dave Franco (Now You See Me), the Nerve movie adaptation hails from Catfish directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and features an adapted screenplay by Scream Queens‘ Jessica Sharzer.

The Nerve movie plot follows industrious high school senior, Vee Delmonico [Roberts], who has had it with living life on the sidelines. When pressured by friends to join the popular online game Nerve, Vee decides to sign up for just one dare in what seems like harmless fun. But as she finds herself caught up in the thrill of the adrenaline-fueled competition partnered with a mysterious stranger [Franco], the game begins to take a sinister turn with increasingly dangerous acts, leading her into a high stakes finale that will determine her entire future.

The Nerve movie also stars Emily Meade (The Leftovers), Miles Heizer (Parenthood), Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, Secrets and Lies) and Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black).

Accompanying the release of the Nerve movie appears to be a tie-in phone app. Although there are few details available regarding the exact degree that the app will replicate the one featured in the film, ARG fans should be aware of the film’s official site at There, interested parties can add their e-mails to a mailing list and sign up to be Nerve Beta testers.

Look for the Nerve to debut in theaters on July 27.
