Bridget Jones’s Baby Trailer: Renée Zellweger is Back

The new Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer featuring Renée Zellweger

Universal Pictures and Working Title have revealed the new Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer, which you can check out below! The threequel is set to open nationwide in the U.S. on September 16, 2016.

Working Title is producing the film, based on Helen Fielding’s bestselling book series, which sees Renée Zellweger reprising the title role along with Colin Firth as love interest Mark Darcy and Patrick Dempsey taking on a new role in Jones’s life. Zellweger and Firth previously appeared in both of the preceding films, Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001 and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason in 2003. Combined, the two films have grossed over $540 million at the global box office.

Sharon Maguire, who directed the original Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001, returned to direct the feature film from a script she co-wrote with David Nicholls (One Day). Plot details are being kept under wraps, but as you have probably guessed, Bridget Jones will indeed have a baby in the third film of the series. The question remains, however, if the father of the child will be Firth’s Darcy, Dempsey’s new character, or perhaps a third party. Hugh Grant, who appeared in the previous two films, will not reprise his role for “Baby.”
