Let the Zootopia cast and crew take you behind the scenes of Disney’s big screen Zooniverse
This Friday, Walt Disney Animation Studios invites you to enter the world of Zootopia as the new animated adventure hits the big screen. Teaming Tangled‘s Byron Howard with Wreck-It Ralph‘s Rich Moore, Disney‘s Zootopia offers a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic mammals. There’s a lot more to Zootopia, though, than a bunch of cute animal characters, but we’ll let people that built it explain. Watch, in the player below, as Howard and Moore join Zootopia cast members Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in Orlando, Florida for a conversation with ComingSoon.net. Take a deeper look at the world of Zootopia, including a few places the that could be explored in potential Zootopia sequels!
Zootopia takes place in the animal-filled city of the same name, as it follows optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (Goodwin). She discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (Bateman), to solve the mystery.
The Zootopia cast also includes Shakira as Gazelle, Octavia Spencer as Mrs. Otterson, J.K. Simmons as Mayor Leodore Lionhearted, Tommy Chong as Yax the Yak, Nate Torrence as Benjamin Clawhauser, Jenny Slate as Assistant Mayor Bellwether, Alan Tudyk as Duke Weaselton, Raymond Persi as Flash and Bonnie Hunt and Don Lake as the voices of Judy Hopps’ mother and father, Bonnie and Stu.
Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4, 2016. If you didn’t already check it out, be sure to read our previous interview with Byron Howard and Rich Moore wherein it’s suggest that Zootopia might even take place in the same reality as Disney’s 1973 Robin Hood!
