CS Video: The 13 Hours Cast on Bringing the True Story to Life

CS sits down with the 13 Hours cast and three of the men behind the harrowing true story

While Michael Bay‘s name may be synonymous with the hugely successful Transformers franchise, this Friday sees the release of a very different film from the blockbuster director. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi tells the true story of the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on a US State Department Special Mission Compound in Benghazi, Libya and of the men that rose to defend the lives of those stationed there. ComingSoon.net recently had the opportunity to sit down with both the 13 Hours cast and with three of the real-life heroes who gave their all.

From Paramount Pictures13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is based on Mitchell Zuckoff‘s book and features an adapted screenplay by Chuck Hogan (The Town). The 13 Hours cast includes John Krasinksi as Jack Silva, James Badge Dale as Tyrone “Rone” Woods, Pablo Schreiber as Kris “Tanto” Paronto, David Denman as Dave “Boon” Benton, Domininc Fumusa as John “Tig” Tiegen and Max Martini as Mark “Oz” Geist. In the player below, you can check out thoughts from all six about what it took to bring the powerful story to life. There’s also insight from the actual Tiegen, Paronto and Geist, all of whom clearly made it out of Benghazi with their sense of humor intact.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi arrives in theaters this Friday, January 15, 2016. If you missed them, you can check out both Red Band and Green Band trailers for the film as well as a recently-released behind-the-scenes featurette.
