Celebrate Animation History with Two New Disney Videos

Two new videos reflect back on 20 years of friendship from Disney•Pixar and 92 years of magic from Walt Disney Animation Studios

Both Disney•Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios have released videos that look back on their respective animation legacies. In the first player below, you can check out Disney•Pixar’s “20 Years of Friendship,” which examines two decades of animated feature films, leading into quite a bit of footage from next month’s The Good Dinosaur. Then, in the bottom player, sit down with animator Eric Goldberg as he celebrates an under-appreciated anniversary by sketching some popular sidekick characters!

Directed by Pete Sohn (who previously helmed the Pixar short “Partly Cloudy”), The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa; “The Night Shift,” “Rizzoli & Isles”) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

The film’s voice cast will also include Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), Steve Zahn (“Treme,” Saving Silverman), AJ Buckley (“Murder in the First,” “Justified”), Anna Paquin (“True Blood,” “X-Men”), Sam Elliot (“Justified,” The Big Lebowski). Frances McDormand (“Olive Kitteridge,” Fargo), Marcus Scribner (“black•ish”), and Jack Bright (Monsters University).

ComingSoon.net recently had the chance to visit Pixar in Emeryville, California. For more information, check out The Good Dinosaur Story: Behind the Scenes at Pixar, our guide to The Good Dinosaur characters and the recently-released second The Good Dinosaur trailer.
