Interview with Sicario stars Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin
Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin have both played a bunch of tough characters in their respective careers, but in Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario, they face one of their toughest real world challenges in the Mexican drug cartels who have successfully been smuggling drugs over the border.
For Blunt, it’s another great role to show off that she’s tough enough to play any man’s game and a great follow-up to her roles in Rian Johnson’s Looper and last year’s Edge of Tomorrow, and for Brolin, it’s a great follow-up to the mountain-climbing epic Everest (which is also still in theaters).
ComingSoon.net spoke to both actors at the junket held during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and they talked about what made them want to do the movie and what it was like working with Villeneuve and Benicio Del Toro (Brolin’s fourth time working with him!).
Sicario is now playing in select cities, but it will expand nationwide on Friday, October 2. You can watch our previous interview with Benicio Del Toro here and read our interview with the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve, right here.
