Watch: Trailer for Horror Film ‘The Hallow’ from Director of ‘The Crow’ Remake

I’ve never been much of a horror guy. For whatever reason it isn’t a genre of film I particularly seek out, and when I do I usually wind up disappointed to some degree, even with acclaimed films like The Babadook and It Follows, though the latter is greatly superior to the former. All that is to say that today brings a trailer for an upcoming horror film, The Hallow, and while it might not do much for me perhaps it will interest some of you. After all, it played quite well at Sundance in January.

Billed as a supernatural horror tale, The Hallow stars Joseph Mawle (“Game of Thrones“) and Bojana Novakovic (“Shameless“) as a couple who move into a remote millhouse in Ireland and find themselves fighting for survival against demonic creatures living in the haunted woods around them. Corin Hardy, who is set to remake The Crow with Forest Whitaker and Jessica Brown Findlay, directed and co-wrote the film.

The Hallow doesn’t yet have a U.S. release date, but it will bow next at the Edinburgh Film Festival this week and opens in the United Kingdom November 13. Perhaps we will see it stateside sometime this fall, I hear there is a holiday in October fully devoted to ghouls and goblins and things that go bump in the night.
