‘Zootopia’ Teaser Trailer, Disney’s Animated Mammal Metropolis Comes to Life

Disney Animation is taking a break from releasing a new film this year as they have been having a hard time moving around the office, what with all the money from Frozen slowing production, not to mention the fact Pixar has not one, but two films coming out this year with Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. But Disney will be back next year, on March 4, 2016 with Zootopia, the story of a modern mammal metropolis and just reading that makes me think of Monsters, Inc.

Today the first trailer for the upcoming animated film has arrived, introducing us to the concept behind the title. Zootopia is comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together–a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.

The film is directed by Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”). Check out the trailer below.
