Watch: First ‘Everest’ Trailers Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jason Clarke

Jake Gyllenhaal has really wowed us the last couple of years with the likes of End of Watch, Prisoners, Enemy and Nightcrawler and it would seem he has strong chance of doing that again this year with a trio of films. This summer there’s Southpaw, later this year there’s Jean-Marc Valleé‘s Demolition and in-between is the 3D thriller Everest for which the first trailer has just arrived.

Set for release on Sept. 18, Everest was inspired by the true events that took place in 1996 and is adapted from Jon Krakauer’s best-seller “Into Thin Air”. The story centers on two different expeditions setting out to climb Mount Everest only to find themselves challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.

Directed by Baltasar Kormakur, and shot in Nepal and the Italian Alps, along with Gyllenhaal, the film stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Martin Henderson, Emily Watson, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Robin Wright, Keira Knightley and Vanessa Kirby.
