I’m not sure there’s a character more reviled in movie history than Jar Jar Binks and I could only imagine how fans would respond should J.J. Abrams somehow fit the Gungan into Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and while this parody trailer is clearly over the top, it pretty much captures just how distracting Jar Jar actually was in The Phantom Menace. Hell, his minor appearances from that point forward were equally distracting.
However, don’t expect Abrams to add Jar Jar to the upcoming film, well, at least not in the flesh. As he tells Vanity Fair, “I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Binks’ bones in the desert there. I’m serious! Only three people will notice, but they’ll love it.”
The opening logo for this one says it all, who knows, if Disney gets their way maybe Jar Jar will indeed return. Give the trailer parody a watch below.
