Watch: First Official ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Trailer

Not blurry and not pirated, those were the sentiments of director Zack Snyder when he premiered the first Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer on Twitter this afternoon following the leaked, bootleg version that arrived online late last night. The plan was to release the trailer following an IMAX event this coming Monday, April 20, and those plans are still on and fans in attendance will now not only get the trailer in IMAX, but additional bonus footage. So all is not last folks.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the highly anticipated action adventure from director Zack Snyder, starring Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.

I gave this one a watch and boy have DC and Warner Bros. done everything they can to veer as far away as possible from Marvel, at least visually. This thing is dark, and I mean both dark tonally and dark as in it’s damned hard to see much of what’s going on. The screen capture below of Superman is also quite murky and muddy. It also sounds as if Affleck’s voice as Batman will be using some sort of enhancer rather than just having the actor grumble… my assumption is they will actually explain that as an aspect of his costume rather than just having fans complain as they did with Christian Bale‘s voice in Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight trilogy.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016, check out the trailer below.
