Watch: Melissa McCarthy Does Bond in New ‘Spy’ Trailer

One of the things Mike said he really liked about Spy when he saw it at SXSW (read his review here) was the action and espionage, it was the comedy that seemed to bog it down a bit for him. “It has some good action, a grounded, real performance from McCarthy,” he wrote, and the laughs he attributed largely to Jason Statham who co-stars along with Jude Law and Rose Byrne.

Today a new trailer for the film has dropped as we inch closer to its June 5 release. Teaming with director Paul Feig for a third time, I have to believe this is at least worth checking out. Give the new trailer a watch and let me know what you think.

Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.
