Watch: Official Trailer for New James Bond Movie, ‘Spectre’

Sony and MGM have premiered the first Spectre trailer, the newest James Bond movie set to hit traditional and IMAX theatres globally on November 6, 2015.

Skyfall director Sam Mendes is back for this 24th Bond adventure along with Daniel Craig as Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q, along with a new cast members including Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Dave Bautista and Lea Seydoux. As far as plots go, here is what we know:

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

As for that IMAX release, as far as I know none of the film was shot in IMAX, but Spectre will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. I have to assume this means the film, like Skyfall, will be format to fit the IMAX screen at a 1.90:1 aspect ratio compared to what will likely be a 2.35:1 ratio for release in traditional theaters. Here’s a little more information on how the IMAX Experience works:

IMAX works with the director and technical teams of each film planning the shots, re-mixing the sound, adjusting the saturation, contrast, brightness and hundreds of details in virtually every frame in a proprietary enhancement process called Digital Re-Mastering, or IMAX DMR®. While the standard DCP (digital cinema package) of a film has to be compatible with all projection and sound systems and play in a variety of cinema environments, IMAX has complete control over the entire process and has the ability to adjust the content specifically for playback its own sound and projection equipment.
