Fox has released the first trailer for The Longest Ride, the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation sure to end with a woman that’s either been talking to a ghost the whole time or inexplicable heart transplants starring Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland) and Scott Eastwood for director George Tillman Jr.. Considering Tillman has directed the likes of Faster, Notorious and Men of Honor it’s a wonder how he landed a gig directing this movie, but so be it.
Set for release on April 10, the film centers on the star-crossed love affair between Luke (Eastwood), a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia (Robertson), a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke make an unexpected connection with Ira (Alan Alda), whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire the young couple.
