Watch: New Trailer for Noah Baumbach’s ‘While We’re Young’ with Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts

Noah Baumbach is a very hit and miss director for me. His films can be gorgeous (Frances Ha), and they can also be excruciating to watch (Greenberg). While We’re Young is his latest film, starring Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts, and from the title and premise, it sounds like it will fall more in line with Greenberg (also starring Stiller) on the Baumbach scale of watchability. The film does have a new trailer for you to watch below.

Movies about aging and trying to keep up with young whippersnappers often do not do much for me. I understand it is a thing every person deals with, but there are only so many ways of telling me to live life in the moment to the fullest. Do I really need to see another middle aged white guy try to fit in with a group of twenty-somethings? I could be doing a myriad of other things, like getting a car wash or stealing Altoids from a convenience store. The cinnamon kind.

I heard next to nothing about this movie after it premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, so that does not give me a ton of confidence in it. I will still give While We’re Young a shot because there is a proven glimmer of hope with Noah Baumbach. I want him to reach those heights every single time he makes a movie.

Again, you can watch the trailer below.

Noah Baumbach’s exploration of aging, ambition and success, stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts as a middle-aged couple whose career and marriage are overturned when a disarming young couple enters their lives.
