Universal and Legendary have premiered the first trailer for Michael Mann‘s new cyber thriller Blackhat starring Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Viola Davis.
Set within the world of global cybercrime, Blackhat follows a furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta. Along with Hemsworth and Davis, the film co-stars Tang Wei, Holt McCallany and Wang Leehom and is set to hit theaters on January 16.
This is Mann’s first film since Public Enemies in 2009 and the early January release date seems a bit odd, but it’s hard not to get excited for a new Mann feature even if he hasn’t exactly hit it out of the park in recent years. Give the trailer a watch below and let me know what you think.
