The first trailer for X+Y has premiered ahead of its upcoming world premiere at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival.
Directed by Morgan Matthews, the film stars Asa Buttefield (Ender’s Game, Hugo) as Nathan, a socially awkward teenage math prodigy who finds new confidence and new friendships when he lands a spot on the British squad at the International Mathematics Olympiad, particularly the unfamiliar feelings for his Chinese counterpart, Zhang Mei (Jo Yang). Rafe Spall, Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan co-star.
The film heads into the festival without a distributor so it will definitely be looking to turn some heads and gain some attention. Give the trailer a watch below and let me know if it looks like one to keep an eye on.
