Back in 2012, The Woman in Black starring Daniel Radcliffe pulled in more than $127 million worldwide, a solid sum for the low budget thriller. Now, the creepy spirit that haunts the Eel Marsh House is back in The Woman in Black: Angel of Death and today the first trailer for the thriller has arrived.
Angel of Death takes us back to England, 1941, and with London in the midst of the blitz, two teachers evacuate a group of schoolchildren to the abandoned Eel Marsh House. Seeking safety from the bombs in the remote coastal location, the group instead find themselves facing an evil far more frightening when their arrival awakens the Woman in Black.
Tom Harper (The Swarm) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), Helen McCrory (Skyfall) and Phoebe Fox (Switch) star.
There is still no U.S. distributor, but it is set to hit theaters in the UK on February 13, 2015 and I imagine someone stateside will pick it up soon enough for a similar release if it’s any good whatsoever. The first film was decent, but I’m not sure how much of the movie’s box office success was due to the film itself or the fact it starred Radcliffe.
