The Expendables wasn’t any good and The Expendables 2 was even worse, now comes The Expendables 3, which will be… what? Really though, how good can this film actually be?
Today a new trailer for the film arrives, declared a “roll call” trailer and it comes a day after 16 terrible character posters for the film were released (all included below) featuring the cast, which inludes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell and Kelsey Grammer.
The story apparently follows Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team as they come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy.
So, with that… here’s the trailer (complete with Fast and Furious typeface graphics), which essentially does what I did directly above, which is to list off everyone in the movie as if that’s all you needed to prove you have something worth watching. Then again, based on the domestic performance of Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Statham’s most recent films, this is the only way to get people interested… are you?
These are clearly the two best posters of the bunch, the rest are on the next page.
