Universal has premiered the first trailer and pictures from the upcoming James Brown biopic Get On Up, directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) and starring Chadwick Boseman (42) in the lead role as the Godfather of Soul.
Set to hit theaters on August 1, Get On Up takes a look inside the music, moves and moods of James Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. The film feature an all-star supporting cast including Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Nelsan Ellis, Lennie James, Tika Sumpter, Jill Scott and Dan Aykroyd.
