Steven Soderbergh may have turned his back on filmmaking, but he’s still hard at work and his latest venture is “The Knick“, a new ten-episode mini-series for Cinemax starring Clive Owen as a doctor in 1900 New York, working at the Knickerbocker Hospital. The series centers on he groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.
The series debuts this summer on Cinemax and this teaser does nothing more than introduce the show, but I think given the talent in front of and behind the camera it’s, at the very least, worthy of an introduction.
