Relativity has released the first trailer for yet another low budget horror film, this one is Oculus, which I heard a lot of people discussing at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, calling it the best horror they’d seen at the fest, though the comment was almost made in jest, suggesting it might be the best, but that didn’t necessarily mean it was all that good.
Directed by Mike Flanagan, the film centers on two damaged siblings (Karen Gillan and Brenton Thwaites) who, as children, witnessed their parents’ harrowing descent into madness and murder. At long last, brother and sister reunite as adults to expose and destroy the paranormal entity they believe is responsible: the Lasser Glass, a legendary mirror their family once owned.
Along with Gillan and Thwaites, the film co-stars Katee Sackhoff, James Lafferty, Rory Cochrane, Annalise Basso, Garretty Ryan, Kate Siegel, Katie Parker and Miguel Sandoval.
Oculus has an April 11 release date. Check out the teaser trailer below.
