After plenty of promotion and forewarning, Marvel and Disney have released the first Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Marvel/Disney; 4/4) trailer this morning and it can be viewed directly below.
Chris Evans returns to the role of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, after last year’s success with The Avengers and we find the hero living quietly in Washington, D.C., trying to adjust to the modern world. However, he’s called back into action when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack.
Joining forces with the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Cap struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon (Anthony Mackie). However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).
I can only assume anyone that shows up to watch Thor: The Dark World in theaters on November 8 will get a glimpse of this on the big screen, but you can get a look right now directly below.
Captain America 2 hits theaters on April 4, 2014 and for more from the film, including posters and pictures, click here.
