Homefront was adapted for the screen by Sylvester Stallone from Chuck Logan’s book and focuses on a widowed ex-DEA agent (Jason Statham) who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. He didn’t choose the town well as a druglord (James Franco) threatens the peaceful community. Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth and Frank Grillo co-star.
Today the first trailer, poster and a handful of pictures from the movie directed by Gary Fleder (The Express) have arrived ahead of the film’s upcoming November 27 release.
Yes, it’s another R-rated Statham actioner and after watching about 60 seconds of the trailer it looks like some sort of Straw Dogs style approach to a common “undercover cop in a small town” kind of film. Could be good, I have my doubts, but we’ll see.
